The Funniest Thing to Listen To After Sex

you-look-nice-today-1.jpgWell, it doesn’t HAVE to be after sex, but it could be! I don’t do my own copywriting, guys, I let Cosmo handle it for me. Anyway, cue the special effects, because here’s the funny thing I promised you:

It’s a recently-launched podcast called You Look Nice Today. The cast includes slightly uncomfortable Internet personalities Merlin “hotdogsladies” Mann, Adam “lonelysandwich” Lisagor and Scott “scottsimpson” Simpson. Playing the role of the Professional Voice Actor who introduces each segment is John Hodgman, writer of catch-all superbook The Areas of My Expertise and the PC in those “Get A Mac” ads. All of their best bits end with Merlin declaring the whole conversation “unusable.”

You Look Nice Today is up to its seventh episode as I write this, and each one is filled with wonder, delight, knowing chuckles and borderline creepiness. For example, the guys just touched on the universal dude experience of being in line behind a police officer at Starbucks and thinking about snatching his gun. GET OUT OF MY HEAD, YLNT! I had that same thought nary three days ago. I can’t pretend, however, that I had already thought of the revolutionary drum-based exercise program Snare!, or a musical about homeless library patrons called “Checkin’ Out”.

So, yeah, You Look Nice Today. If you like funny things, you should listen. Oh forget it, this post is just unusable.

  1. the funniest thing someone ever said to me during sex was “I know a good drag bar downtown”.

Apparently they were replying to a conversation we had before sex had been initiated. It was very disturbing.

  2. Doc, your comments are often more interesting than my actual posts. That’s hilarious and … makes me a little uneasy. Haha.
