My esteemed friend Brendan McGinley has tapdanced his way to the top of the zudacomics.com comics contest with his hysterical, historical entry “Hannibal Goes To Rome.” It’s rooted in facts — the dude did his research — and it’s funny. Although this comparison makes very little sense in terms of actual history, something about the comic reminds me of Asterix the Gaul. It’s fun to read, and it’s not just for fans of classical studies: it also features war, good art, and piles of corpses.

So, good people of Inter Net, I beseech you to read Hannibal, and also to check out some of the other up-and-coming comics creators competing at Zuda. Give Brendan a vote, a rating and comment to lend maximum aid to his effort to get this story published.
