Don’t understand those wry, unfunny cartoons in the New Yorker? Wish they’d just get rid of them and fill the magazine with the more accessible LOLs we get from cat pictures with captions?
Well, that’s not going to happen any time soon. But here’s the next best thing:
Beloved cartoonist and Internet personality Ape Lad — the ape behind the hysterical Laugh Out Loud Cats comic strip — has entered a New Yorker contest to redesign cover boy Eustace Tilley. The winners will be featured on the magazine’s website.
Give Ape Lad’s entries a look, and try your hand at designing your own Tilleys. If you decide to enter, leave a comment on this post and I’ll link to you.
Fans of the Laugh Out Loud Cats can also score all kinds of illustrated merch at Hobotopia. There’s even a Pip fan club you can join. Srsly!
